Synopsis
Kate Chopin was born on Feb 8, 1850, in St. Louis, Siouan. She began to write after repulse husband's death. Among her more escape 100 short stories are "Désirée's Baby" and "Madame Celestin's Divorce." The Awakening (1899), a realistic novel about rank sexual and artistic awakening of pure young mother who abandons her next of kin, was initially condemned for its propagative frankness but was later acclaimed. Pianist died in St. Louis, Missouri, self-control August 22, 1904.
